Emergency Road Services Of Canada Inc.(E.R.S. Canada) opened it’s doors in November 2006 with the goal of becoming Canada’s leading provider of emergency breakdown services to the trucking industry. Dawn and Alvis Violo, the owners of E.R.S. Canada, determined through market research that Canada did not have a bilingual 24 hour breakdown service that trucking companies could call to help them get their equipment back on the road quickly and cost effectively any where in Canada. Dawn Violo, the president of E.R.S. Canada, began to put together a database of service providers that now totals over 8000 service providers across all ten Canadian provinces. Due to demand from its customers, E.R.S. Canada has also had to expand into the U.S.A.

Over the last few years, E.R.S. Canada has carried out thousands and thousands of service calls for some of the biggest companies in Canada. They have also provided their services to every other sized company from every industry right down to the important owner operators. E.R.S. Canada has prided itself in being able to help every customer, regardless of their size, with the same high level of bilingual service and cost effectiveness.

The customers of E.R.S. Canada were recently asked to share their opinions on what they think about the company after having used the service for a length of time. Almost ninety percent of the customers that were asked to submit a testimonial did so without any hesitation. As you will see in the testimonials you read below, the owners of E.R.S. Canada could not be happier with what their customers are saying about their company.

One of the main reasons why E.R.S. Canada was created was to help relieve the stress that some companies receive when a breakdown happens. In most cases, the person who receives the breakdown call has to drop what ever they are doing and begin to concentrate on getting their equipment back on the road quickly. Many companies are realizing that instead of wasting a great deal of their time carrying out service calls, it is much faster and cost effective to have E.R.S. Canada do it.

Steve Dobosz, the Shop Foreman for Laidlaw Carriers Van says ‘We here at Laidlaw have been engaged in the use of ERS since December of 2008. It’s a company that re-leaves a lot of stress in the work place. It gives you time to be able to go on and work on other things knowing that your break down or problem is being handled. It’s a pleasure having such a reliable service on your side. Time is money and this company saves you valuable time.’

Another customer that E.R.S. Canada has helped is Lloyd Rawlings, the Fleet Maintenance Manager for Vitran Express Canada. Lloyd says ‘Vitran has been using E.R.S. since June of 2007. We make one call for any type of breakdown 24 hours a day and E.R.S. takes care of everything including paying the vendor. It could not be any easier for me or the drivers. Thank you E.R.S. for taking a load off my shoulders.’

Many customers use E.R.S. Canada when they know that they cannot afford to be late for a delivery. Eldon Gerber, the Truck Trailer Maintenance Supervisor for Home Hardware says ‘Home Hardware Stores Ltd. began using ERS in June of 2008 and has found it to be an excellent way of handling break downs on the road. Most of our loads are time sensitive, therefore when dealing with breakdowns it is important that downtime is minimal. This is where ERS has been an excellent service to be just a phone call away when we need them.’ Glen Cross, the Fleet Maintenance Coordinator for Clarke Road Transport also says ‘We have been using ERS for the past year and their service has been exceptional. Their staff is very knowledgeable and professional. Most importantly they keep our downtime to a minimal which is of the utmost importance. I look forward to continuing our business relationship in the future.’

FedEx Freight Canada is also another customer who can not afford downtime. Boysie Dindyal, who is the Manager of Contractor Relations says ‘We have been using ERS since March 2008 and have been very pleased with the level of service provided. ERS allows us to minimize our downtime and maintain the high level of service our customers expect. Keep up the great work.’

One area that E.R.S. Canada prides its self on is having the fastest response time in the breakdown industry. John Wheeler, the Manager of USA & Canadian Operations for MSM Transportation Inc. says ‘Just a quick note to say thanks for providing MSM Transportation Inc. with great service. We realize that with truck breakdowns, we can not be late with deliveries for multiple customers, therefore it is critical to have the truck repaired and rolling as soon as possible. Emergency Road Services Of Canada has proven to MSM that you are reliable and capable of providing us with the fastest response in the industry.’ James Scott, the Maintenance Foreman for Liquid Cargo Lines shares the same opinion by saying ‘Liquid Cargo Lines has been using ERS since January 2007. ERS does what they do best, with quick response time, knowledgeable technicians and excellent customer service. They keep our trucks and tankers on the road doing what they do best, servicing our customers.’

Dan Blakely, the Maintenance Manager for Access Trailer Leasing in Moncton, N.B. actually puts E.R.S. Canada’s rapid response time into numbers by saying ‘We here at Access Leasing have been using ERS for just over a year. ERS is now handling up to 90% of our Canadian breakdowns. Normal wait time to have a vendor in place is 15 minutes. I can not recollect a driver ever waiting for more than an hour to have a vendor on location. We wish continued success to Dawn and her staff.’

From day one, one of E.R.S. Canada’s main goals has been to get their customers the best possible price for each service call. Judging from the response from some of their customers, they are achieving their goal. Susan and Ron Moore, owners of Moore Brothers Transport say ‘We have been customers of ERS since we met Dawn and her team at the Toronto Truck Show in 2007. Ron and I thought what a great idea! The rates are good or better than trying to find them yourself and shop around. We are mostly working in South Western Ontario and Quebec and we have no complaints about any of the service or the rates that ERS is giving us only PRAISE! Great job guys, you make our jobs a lot easier! We highly recommend ERS to any fleet to save time and steps and even money on repairs on the road.’ Philip Heard, the President of PHTS Logistics is also very happy and says ‘As the owner of a 15 truck fleet it is hard to be jack of all trades let alone master of one. So when it comes to breakdowns on the road that are too far to send our own mechanics, we depend on the masters of road side service arrangements ERS to get the repair done fast and as cost effective as possible. They make all the arrangements from start to finish with just one call saving us time and money. We have used ERS for over 2 years now and are very happy with the level of service they provide to help keep our equipment moving.’

Another customer who is very happy with E.R.S. Canada’s service and the money they are saving is Provincial Trailer Rentals. Julio Pereira, who is the Service Manager says ‘Since becoming a customer of ERS in May of 2008, we at PTR have been very pleased with the timely manner that our requirements for service have been met. Just like PTR, Discount Car & Truck Rentals utilizes the services of E.R.S. Canada to help their rental customers get back on the road quickly. Ryan Blackwood, who is their Medium Duty Truck Maintenance Coordinator & Fleet Administrator says ‘ERS provides roadside assistance for our medium duty truck fleet across Canada and they have lived up to our high standards of excellent customer service. Wherever a breakdown occurs, we are confident that ERS of Canada will provide us with timely assistance, from initial breakdown to getting our customers back on the road.’

Every customer uses E.R.S. Canada for a different reason but two of the most talked about reasons include being able to make one call for all breakdowns and the ability of E.R.S. Canada to find help in remote areas. Ian Duffy, the Fleet Coordinator for Wesbell Technologies says ‘I have 140 vehicles all over Canada in my fleet. I only need 1 number for towing service, ERS. We have been using ERS for about a year now. I have never had to make a second call to see where my tow truck is, their dispatch is the best. ERS is fast, reliable and always gets the job done. I recommend ERS to all fleet managers across the board, they make my job easy.’ Mike MacDonald, the Business Unit Manager for M-O COLDChain says ‘We began using ERS in early 2008. Their assistance in locating road services in remote areas of the country is where we find ERS service most beneficial to us and our customers. They are always quick to assist us in finding a solution to any and all issues we may encounter.’

Ron Jansen, the Maintenance Manager for TST Truckload Express offered this opinion of E.R.S. Canada, ‘TST Truckload Express has been using the services of ERS for over 2 years. The entire staff and management team have always been professional and efficient in handling break downs across Canada and the USA. At times I feel they have gone beyond what is expected by calling me direct and advising me of situations that I was not aware of. The staff at ERS surpasses all expectations that I have.’
