Sapient Automation Announces Ed Romaine as Chief Marketing Officer(CMO)

A leading material handling company, Sapient Automation, has announced Ed Romaine as their new CMO to help inform and educate the market place about simple automation for high density storage and retrieval applications in manufacturing, warehousing, distribution, wholesaling, retailing and institutions for technologies including the Viper Vertical Lift Module (VLM), Avenger Vertical Carousel, Hornet Horizontal Carousel and Shark Inventory Management Software.

Doylestown, PA – February 03, 2011 – Sapient Automation, a subsidiary of MDCI, a leading provider of automated storage and retrieval systems including Vertical Carousels, Vertical Lift Modules (VLMs) and Horizontal Carousels, announces the appointment of Ed Romaine as the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) for the organization.

Romaine boasts three decades of experience in the marketing of automated material handling industry. Having most recently spent 10 years with KardexRemstar as the VP of Marketing and nine years with White Systems as their Director of Marketing.

Within the industry trade organization, Material Handling Institute of America (MHIA) Romaine is the Chairman for the Supply Chain Execution (SCE) group of America (2009 to current), was Chairman of the Order Fulfillment Council of America (2003 to 2008) and helped create the Carousel and VLM Product Section Group. He also spearheaded the efforts to create the first industry safety standards for horizontal carousels.

Romaine is a frequent editorial and information contributor to hundreds of publications and a speaker at many Supply Chain, Logistics & Ergonomic functions including the Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIE), Promat, North American Material Handling, Southern California Plant Operations, NJ Material Handling Assoc., Applied Ergonomics, Warehousing Education & Research Council (WERC), Lean Manufacturing Conference, Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP), NeoCon, Health Information Distribution Association (HIDA), National Catalog & Operations (NCOF) and more. He has an undergraduate degree from Ohio University and completed the Competitive Strategies program from Wharton Business School.
