The Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) has announced signing on as a Principal Platinum Sponsor of the first Saudi Downstream Forum and Exhibition to be held by the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu in Yanbu on March 8 and 9.
SABIC has been a mainstay of support for the development of downstream industries in Saudi Arabia for years based on the family of products it produces which, in turn, are converted by local manufacturers into finished products and materials. Its sponsorship of the Forum is aimed at encouraging manufacturers and investors to take advantage of the investment opportunities in Saudi Arabia’s downstream industries, particularly in the petrochemical and minerals sectors.
Commenting on SABIC’s commitment to downstream industries in Saudi Arabia, SABIC Vice Chairman and CEO Mohamed Al-Mady said, “In the span of just over three decades, SABIC has grown its business into a leading chemicals company and, at the same time, set in motion the growth of many local industries that convert our production into finished products and materials. We are now a truly global enterprise with operations that span the globe, from Asia to the Americas and including also the Middle East, North Africa and Europe. We are now able to contribute more than ever to downstream industrial development through the innovative value-added products we are bringing to market and the use of our resources to help develop local infrastructure.”
The Saudi Downstream Forum, which will be hosted by the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu and organized by the London-based CWC Group, will bring together industry leaders, investors and high level government representation to discuss the new technologies, industries and investment opportunities which will play a central role in the further diversification of Saudi Arabia’s economy.
