Rally To Support Alternative and Natural Health Care To Be Joined By More Health Less Care Alliance

Dr. Pete Weiss of MHLCA will travel to Washington, D.C. as part of the "Hope on the Hill" event to educate legislators!
"I'm happy to be invited to participate, and I'm glad that the debate on health care reform is still active," said Dr. Weiss. "Congress needs to realize that health doesn't come from health care. America has more of a health crisis than a health care crisis. We need more health and less care, and I believe that alternative providers have a major role to play in our solutions. Unfortunately, they have largely been excluded from the debate."
Voice for HOPE (http://www.voiceforhope.org/) is a new organization dedicated to ensuring that practitioners, consumers, and producers of comprehensive medicine products and services have meaningful participation in the development of public health policy. HOPE is an acronym for "Healers of the Planet Earth." The group holds that education, nutrition, and prevention are the foundations of true health, and that the current health care reform dialogue is still not placing significant value on these important realities as integral and essential parts of America's health care solutions.
Believing that it costs far more to treat a disease or illness after onset than it does to fund integrative health services, Voice for HOPE is calling on Congress to include services such as stress management, massage, yoga, acupuncture, chiropractic, nutritional assessment and a host of other modalities in any new reform bill.
They hold that numerous integrative services, products and modalities have been proven to decrease stress and the symptoms of disease, while increasing health awareness and/or enhancing well-being and More Health Less Care has created a site to bring those things to the general public (http://www.mhlca.com).
"I'm in agreement with their position on these services," said Weiss. He went on to say, "Furthermore almost all alternative services are much lower cost and lower risk than traditional health care. For some time I've been preaching that we shouldn't just keep doing more of what isn't working, and that traditional health care isn't helping us to be well. When you're in a hole - stop digging. I hope we can find legislators with the courage to embrace a new paradigm, that of more health and less care."
A group of natural health professionals that want to change how health care is done in the US.
