YesStyle proudly co-presents the 2nd Philippine K-pop

Leading online fashion retailer YesStyle served as co-presenter of the 2nd Philippine K-pop Convention held December 11, 2010 at the Philippine International Convention Center in Manila, Philippines. Organized by the Philippine K-pop Committee, Inc. (KPCI), the first and only non-profit K-pop organization in the country, the event was attended by over 5,000 Filipino K-pop fans from the Metro Manila area and surrounding cities.

Themed as "2010: The Year of K-pop", the one-day-only event was the biggest gathering of K-pop fan clubs in the Philippines, with over 40 booths catering to the participants. The program line-up included a dance contest, cosplay competition and even a K-pop Idol Look-Alike contest. There were also special video greetings from singers Brian Joo, 2AM and Chomp Tan, as well as games, performances and product and album launches featuring K-pop merchandise and memorabilia.

One of the event's highlights was the YesStyle Fashion Show that showcased the latest clothes, accessories and trends from YesStyle, all inspired by some of the most popular Korean groups, celebrities and Asian styles. The convention generated PhP 500,000 which will go to Gawad Kalinga, a local movement that aims to end poverty in the Philippines by building self-sustaining communities.

YesStyle founder and CEO Joshua Lau expressed enthusiasm for the partnership. "As Korean fashion and music continue to inspire so many people, we at YesStyle are proud to be part of such a historic event for K-pop's Filipino fans and to give something back to the greater community," he stated.

Paola Ebora from the Philippine K-pop Convention committee appreciated the gesture of support from fans and sponsors alike. "The 2nd Philippine K-pop Convention is about showcasing how Filipino fans love Korean culture and how it's such a big influence through music and fashion," she said. "Teaming with YesStyle for the event certainly helped us in our goal to make more fans happy and raise funds for a worthy cause."
