Study dynamic content with SMI Experiment SuiteTM 360°- new methodologies for eye tracking practitioners
The latest software release of SMI Experiment SuiteTM 360° sets a new standard for eye tracking studies on dynamic web content and merges objective visual attention data with new methodologies like task-based studies and enhanced multimedia RTAQuality and efficiency rise to a new level for eye tracking studies on dynamic web content, brochures and videos or other print and dynamic marketing material with release 3.0 of SMI Experiment SuiteTM 360° by SensoMotoric Instruments GmbH (SMI), leader in eye tracking technology. The versatile suite bundles two powerful software tools: SMI Experiment Center™ for study design and SMI BeGazeTM for data analysis and visualization of results. Release 3.0 also supports the methodologies of Retrospective Think Aloud (RTA) and task-based studies which add additional insights into cognitive processes of users.
SMI Experiment SuiteTM 360° now impresses with a completely new web study module for all stages of web usability and web marketing testing. SMI’s unique combination of technologies sets a new standard to capture and analyze gaze data on dynamic web sites - including pop-ups and flash content. Users can explore the web in a native browser environment and are free to use multiple tabs and browser windows.
Eye tracking studies on clickable pdf files now allow to objectively test and efficiently analyze layout and reading behaviour of e.g. newspapers or magazines. The new release also features SMI`s outstanding capabilities to analyze HD videos, especially the ability to aggregate eye tracking data of several viewers of dynamic objects in a video.
Especially for web based studies, SMI Experiment CenterTM offers easy set up and structuring of studies on heterogeneous user groups around user(group)-specific tasks. When conducting the study, it is easy to select which combination of tasks a specific user group defined by e.g. gender or age will be given and later analyze accordingly.
For psychological experiments or UX studies SMI Experiment SuiteTM 360° provides advanced support to gain insight into the cognitive processes or user strategies with Retrospective Think Aloud (RTA) methods. With just a few mouse clicks either a full user session or just parts of it can be replayed to the user, with or without showing the gaze data or user video. The SMI enhanced multimedia RTA captures user behaviour including verbal comments and facial expressions.
“This software release is a result of extensive work with our clients and partners” says Christian Villwock, Director of SMI’s Eye&Gaze Tracking System business unit, “We are proud of having defined new standards for dynamic web testing and advanced methodologies in the fields of psychology, usability and market research. With our extensive pre-testing work, we convinced ourselves, that this SMI Experiment SuiteTM 360° release provides tremendous value to our customers.”
