Robert Allen Mycko just completed recording an EP at Merit Studio on Music Row in Nashville featuring top-notch Nashville session players John Willis - Guitar (Shania Twain, Kenny Chesney, Leann Rimes, Brian McKnight); Bobby Ogdin -Keyboard (Elvis Presley, Marshall Tucker Band, Toy Caldwell); Steve Holland - Drums (Melissa Gibson); Bob Wray - Bass (Marshall Tucker Band, Hank Williams Jr, Marie Osmond, Dan Seals, Kathy Mattea); Bill Hullett - Acoustic Guitar (Martina McBride, Loretta Lynn, Alabama, John Michael Montgomery, Billy Joe Royal, Highway 101); and Tom Pick - Engineer (Elvis Presley, Waylon Jennings, Dolly Parton, Skeeter Davis, John Denver, Billy Joe Shaver, Roy Orbison, Mickey Gilley, Hank Locklin). The show at Cadillac Ranch will allow him to showcase some of his newest songs. Mycko has a full-length CD already available which he released in 2006.
Mycko is touring with shows in Nashville and in his former home state Connecticut in response to the overwhelming popularity of his tune “You’re My American Hero”. The prolific song is making waves across the country and has a lyrical twist, making stay-at-home spouses who take care of the children the heroes along with our soldiers. Mycko is endorsed by Senator Joe Lieberman and Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro. He has also attended numerous political rallies including an event with President Clinton.
Mycko will also perform at the French Quarter Cafe in Nashville on March 15th and he will appear at Fort Campbell in Kentucky at the Main PX for an autograph signing/acoustic performance on March 17th at 11AM.
Robert Allen Mycko began singing in his local church at the age of 13 where he was informed the congregation was enjoying his voice so much that entertaining became second nature. Robert began to play drums with local bands through the age of 20, and his love for country music gave him the resolve to teach himself how to play the guitar which in turn allowed him to begin his creative writing - putting words to his music.
Recording in the studio gave Robert the chance to express himself in many ways; his multi-talents allowed him to play most of the instruments on his full-length CD. When the CD was recorded a tremendous thing occurred; one of his songs titled “You're My American Hero” was heard by a reporter from NBC 30 News. The reporter contacted Robert to do a news story about him and "You’re My American Hero". This news story began the run of 5 more TV interviews that have occurred, helping to launch his music career.
This lead to the thrill of a lifetime for Robert, and making him the first to ever entertain at the Connecticut State Capital in the Lawmaker’s Chambers. Robert’s appearance at the Connecticut State Capitol opened many new avenues for his music.
The Capitol event leading up to, and after, put Robert in all the Connecticut newspapers, some articles becoming front-page news. The Capitol performance story was also picked up by MSNBC, and spawned several appearances on talk radio WICC AM 600 in Bridgeport, Connecticut.
“You're My American Hero” has been receiving airplay on numerous country stations with requests daily from an ever-increasing fan base. Robert also has two consistent first place awards in New Artist contests.
