New Fashion Full of Eastern Promise

Contemporary fashion has been given an Asian twist at brand new online boutique, Mayadisa. The fashion start-up features Eastern-inspired accessories and jewellery from a range of independent designers.
The fashion industry has long looked to the East for inspiration, demonstrated recently by the oriental theme in Marc Jacobs for Louis Vuitton’s Spring/Summer 2011 collection. Mayadisa was created with the same aim of bringing together East and West, but in a more accessible way.
Mayadisa’s Founder and Director, Neema Shah said “I love high street and designer fashion but I wanted pieces that better reflected my British Asian background as well as my love for travel. Founding Mayadisa has enabled us to bring Eastern-inspired collections by talented designers to offer something different to a wider Western audience.”
Much of the Indian-inspired jewellery is available exclusively at Mayadisa. The site also features accessories made from vintage kimonos and saris to create limited edition pieces not available in the mass market.
