Bikhuk Kratom starts reforestation project ; We plant a tree each time you buy kratom!

Press release from: Bikhuk Kratom & Ethnobotanicals

The start of the new year was the kick off for a tree planting project initiated by Bikhuk. The company pledged to plant a large number of trees in the area of Kalimantan. Customers will contribute automatically when they buy kratom from Bikhuk.

The Indonesian based company signed up with the United Nation Environment Program, to replant a minimum amount of 10 hectares in the area of central Kalimantan, Indonesia, an area in need of conserving.

The program itself is solid and sustainable. For a certain amount of kratom powder bought by the customers and resellers, the company will plant a number of trees.

Putri Wulan, Bikhuk's CEO has signed up to plant the first 3000 trees before the beginning of this years' wet season. She stated "As a main kratom producer we encounter the negative effects of deforestation on a daily base. Although we produce our own herbal products in a environmentally sustainable way, the results of the disappearing rainforest are obvious and visible all around."

By planting a range of native species to the area, including the Mitragyna Speciosa and other rare trees, the company aims to preserve the unique biodiversity of this area. Next to that, it will work close together with the indigenous populations. In this way the protection of the area is ensured and meanwhile the project will be offering alternative sources of income for a part of the local population.

Bikhuk hopes to raise more awareness among their customers, resellers and colleagues in the market, for the need of preservation of what is left of the unique primary forest in the area.

"We strongly believe that the majority of our customers share our concerns. With this initiative we hope to reward their loyalty, even though we realize that we can only take small steps" Putri Wulan stated.

To make sure that this project will succeed, Bikhuk works together with the local agroforestry center. Due to the involvement of both the local population as well as experienced partners, bikhuk expects to contribute to a sustainable solution. The planned area for the trees will not only include various endangered species but also function as a buffer to preserve the surrounding primary forest. The company will keep their supporters updated on the site, see bikhuk.com for more information.

Meanwhile Bikhuk will continue to focus on its own mission, to produce quality forest products, like the highly praised kratom powder, but in a way that will contribute, a bit more, to a greener planet.

Bikhuk is a wholesaler & manufacturer of high quality kratom powder, leaf and other ethnobotanicals. Supplying resellers and users worldwide with the finest herbs and ethnogens, direct from the source in South East Asia. Bikhuk was established in 2006 and has its head quarters in Jakarta Indonesia.
