Wood - As a Photo Star

Recently the Cologne based photographer Paul-Jürgen Weber published some art works in the two series „Wood.1“ and „Wood.2“. The matter is wood in it's natural forms of appearance and in various stages of it's existence.

Find both editions in the internet on http://www.pjweber.de/galerie%20holz1.html and ...holz2.html. The all in all 46 photographs with formats of 29x39cm or 40x58 cm respectively, are available as signed and numbered fineart prints of a limited edition of 10.

From ancient times wood is a consistent attender of human civilisation. It's huge utility value as basic material, commodity and fuel has so much top priority that it's quality as a subject of art is hardly been noticed. Natural wood itself and without utility considerations is a source of emotional enrichment. The photographs are to contribute to discover these potentials and make them aware.

Paul-Jürgen Weber lives and works in Cologne, Germany. Art works since 1968, at first painting and assemblages, since the 1980ies primarily photography. He feels particular photographic reference to Ansel Adams, Harald Mante plus Bernd and Hilla Becher.
