Realvanity has turned out to be one of the most interesting initiatives in the online fashion scene. Let us discover the reasons for this success with the owner and founder Giovanni Scoma.

Fashion Times: You belong to the business world. How did you come up with the idea of the Website.
Giovanni Scoma: Realvanity was born from an idea I made mine: selling brand clothes at stock price while exploiting the immense visibility granted by the internet. Our years-spanning experience in fashion stock commerce has grated my staff and me a deep knowledge of the market. Two years of meticulous planning and eight months of careful implementation validated our efforts.

FT: What kind of difficulties did you overcome?
GS: The obstacles we had to fight were many starting from the many prejudices about e-commerce.
Italians have never been too keen on online shopping, even when risks are non-existant, the terms-of-service and accessible price, like Realvanity..
Oddly enough, we don't seem to find the same resistance from the rest of our customers.
Another issue is the nature of internet itself. A successful website needs continuousadvertising camaigning and an aggressive, dynamic marketing strategy. Our customer's satisfacion – the very ones whose trust we earned thanks to our professionalism and care for details rewarded our effort.

FT: What will the future of Realvanity be like?
GS: Future is uncertain by definition, but things are looking great. In a field where there's a fierce competition and in this economy we keep growing 15% to 20%, with an ever growing customer platform. We cannot let our guard down, though The price for success is constant work.

FT: What's your take on your company's success?
GS: The reasons must be found in our competitive prices and in our wide selection of clothing.. What's more we guarantee the originality of the clothes we sell:people are much more selective towards imitations. We chose not to settle for the most important brands of the Italian Fashion scene, but we elected to deal with brands of a more international flavour.
Brands like Dsquared2, Turk or Velvet may not sound familiar to italian ears but they are extremely popular in New York, Paris or – why not – Tokyo or Seoul.

FT: What's the future of Made in Italy, in your opinion?
GS: Italy is still the place to be when we are talking fashion. We ship hundreds of brand clothes a month and most of them are Gucci, Valentino, Dolce & Gabbana, Roberto Cavalli e Prada.

Realvanity.com is an e-commerce website that purchases its items from the most prestigious boutiques in Italy and abroad which deal with highly renowned brands of Italian and international fashion and directly form brand producing companies. We are wholesalers for many outlet shops in Italy, Europe and rest of the world.
