World Class Oil & Gas Thought Leaders to Address IAGC’s 48th Annual Conference

International Association of Geophysical Contractors 2018 Conference Session

The International Association of Geophysical Contractor's (IAGC) 48th Annual Conference will feature top executives and experts in the oil & gas exploration industry. This year’s sessions focus on the conference theme "Accelerating Exploration, Expanding Energy Possibilities" and will explore the geophysical and exploration industry’s role and opportunities globally in accelerating exploration to safely and responsibly meet global energy demand.

The 2019 conference will feature a stimulating and informative discussion by top exploration executives. Keynote Speaker, Chris Birdsall (ExxonMobil Manager, Economics & Energy Division, Corporate Strategic Planning) will share insights about the future of the global energy landscape. His address will also highlight challenges of ensuring world access to “affordable and reliable energy supplies to support prosperity while reducing environmental impacts – including the risks of climate change.”

The Exploration Executive Outlook Panel will feature Niall McCormack (Vice President Exploration, BHP), Richard Lunam (President Exploration, ConocoPhillips), Martin Stauble (Vice President Exploration North America and Brazil, Shell) and Joseba Murillas (Executive Director of Global Exploration, Repsol) and will explore the future of exploration and trends.

John Gibson, Chairman - Energy Technology at Tudor Pickering & Holt will deliver an address examining market and technology drivers as the industry seeks to accelerate exploration around the globe.

The conference’s Technology Panel will discuss where E&P companies are headed and what they are looking for now and in the near future. The panel will feature Emeka Emembolu (VP Reservoir Development - Gulf of Mexico, BP), Tolulope Ewherido (VP Technical Exploration, ExxonMobil), Tom Ridsdill Smith (VP Geoscience, Woodside), Pascal Desegaulx (Manager of Global Upstream Geophysics, Total), Davide Calcagni (VP G&G Operations & Services, Eni),
Jan Helgesen (VP Geophysical Operations, Equinor) and Julie Wilson (Research Director - Global Exploration, WoodMackenzie) as the moderator.

The Americas Energy Policy session will feature Diego Mesa, the Colombian Vice-Minister of Energy who will provide an overview of energy policy direction in Colombia.

Finally, the conference will feature IAGC’s first ever Africa panel where distinguished energy officials H.E. Mr. Aziz Rabbah (Minister of Energy, Mines and Sustainable Development, Kingdom of Morocco), H.E. Gabriel Mbaga Obiang Lima (Minister of Mines and Hydrocarbons, Equatorial Guinea), H.E. Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam (Deputy Minister of Energy Petroleum Sector, Ministry of Energy, Ghana), H.E. Dr. Arikana Chihombori Quao (African Union Ambassador to the United States), Atty. Saifuah-Mai Gray (President/CEO, National Oil Company of Liberia) and Moderator, Paul Sinclair (Africa Oil Week, Conference Director, ITE) will discuss current and future oil & gas exploration and development plans and key issues that may impact oil and gas investment for their respective countries.

Registration closes on February 14, 2019 oil and gas exploration and production professionals are invited and encouraged to attend. The conference will be held February 20, 2019 at the Hilton Westchase, 9999 Westheimer Road in Houston, Texas 77042. The cost per attendee is $200 for members and $250 for nonmembers.
