Jeanne Robertson Features Favorite Stories on New Compilation DVD Out January 18th Award-Winning Humorist Introduces Don’t Bungee Jump Naked and Other Life Lessons and Gears Up for National Tour
Nashville, Tenn. - With her career nearly half a century in the making, humorous speaker Jeanne Robertson will add to her collection of milestones with her upcoming compilation DVD Don’t Bungee Jump Naked and Other Life Lessons. This 67-year-old former Miss North Carolina stands tall at 6'2" and has a personality, heart and sense of humor just as soaring. Entertaining thousands each year, Jeanne is heard daily on SiriusXM Satellite Radio's Laugh USA Family Friendly Comedy and Blue Collar Comedy channels, and her YouTube videos now span over 10 million views. As Robertson has attracted more attention, along with producing six nationally released DVDs, the demand for Jeanne's family friendly and engaging brand of comedy has grown exponentially.Due to the buzz around her laugh-out-loud comedy videos on YouTube that have “gone viral," Jeanne has put together a collection of some of her most-loved stories – from the well-recognized “Don’t Send a Man to the Grocery Store” to the hilarious “Doing the Pashmina Toss Flip” and the title act, “Don’t Bungee Jump Naked.” The January 18th release of this new compilation is an ideal preface to Robertson’s upcoming national tour, kicking off in January 2011.
Jeanne's real life lessons joined with her incredible storytelling ability make her humor stand out amongst typical speakers and entertainers. Through her message-driven comedy, listeners can easily see that Jeanne reaches for the positive in people and consistently brings it to the surface while leaving them holding their sides and wiping tears from their cheeks in laughter. She embodies the sophisticated southern woman, and at 67 years of age she shows no signs of slowing down.
After decades as a public speaker and humorist, this former Miss Congeniality winner in the Miss America Pageant is no stranger to recognition, having earned every top honor in her profession. She garnered the Certified Speaking Professional designation in 1980 and was inducted to the National Speakers Association’s (NSA) Hall of Fame the following year. She shares the recognition with only 171 others, including Zig Ziglar, Ronald Reagan and Norman Vincent Peale, and was the first woman to receive NSA’s most cherished honor, the Cavett Award. Standing tall in the man’s world of professional speaking, she is one of the few women ever given the Golden Gavel Award from Toastmasters International, joining the likes of Earl Nightingale, Art Linkletter and Walter Cronkite.
This refined humorist brings delightful southern charm and loads of laughter to each performance. Jeanne Robertson’s wit is sharp and clever and always conveys a message beyond the surface.
