Solar Canada 2010 Conference Gives Huge Boost To Green Movement
Earlier this month Infinite Solar Inc. attended an incredible convention put on by the Canadian Solar Industries Association (CanSIA) in Toronto, Ontario. If ever there was proof of the rapidly expanding solar opportunities that abound in North America this meeting of solar businesses is it. Two years ago it attracted 300 attendees. This year more than 3500 attendees and 400 exhibitors showed up at what has to be the largest meeting of solar energy interests in Canadian history.CanSIA has announced that they are planning several smaller regional conferences across the nation and have already made plans for their 2011 conference back in Toronto.
World wide participation
While the information shared and the extensive display of cutting edge technologies was exciting, the real excitement came from the make up of the crowd. This wasn’t a purely Canadian event. Vendors and businessmen from around the globe attended this conference coming from as far away as Germany in Europe and China in Asia.
The make up of this audience is a testament to the potential of “green energy” and the new business opportunities that wait just around the corner. When you have groups with traditionally adversarial relationships like manufacturers, labor unions and government officials all singing off the same sheet of music you know something extraordinary is in the air. A big boom in “green technology” will be easier to achieve with this kind of consensus.
Like a kid in a candy store
Like most conferences the Exhibitors’ floor is where the fun is and for this group of solar power enthusiasts it was like being a kid let loose in a candy shop. New and innovative manufacturing techniques were on display, new applications for specific industries were unveiled and, piping systems, inverters, racking components and of course with Infinite Solar being a Bronze Sponsor of the event, we showcased our Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Installation training.
While the Exhibitor Floor is where buyers and sellers can mingle and do deals, the nitty gritty of renewable energy was discussed in detail at the conference’s presentation and break-out groups. Every conceivable aspect of green energy from technology, to safety, to government regulation to legal considerations had knowledgeable professionals present and the free flow of information was incredibly valuable.
Infinite Solar is extremely proud not only to help sponsor this event but to be involved in a significant way with an emerging industry that has the potential to do so much good for so many people.
Infinite Solar Inc., renewable energy training school, offers IREC accredited solar training classes & certifications in Solar PV Installation, Solar Thermal Installation, and Solar Sales Training.
