Uncharted 3 to Be Biggest Selling Game of 2011 at ShopTo.Net
ShopTo.Net is predicting that Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception on the PlayStation 3 could be the biggest selling game of 2011.ShopTo.Net the UK’s fastest growing video games and movies retailer, is predicting that Uncharted 3 Drakes Deception could be their biggest selling title of 2011. Third in the Uncharted trilogy, Drakes Deception see’s the return of adventure hero Nathan Drake and his loveable rogue mentor, Victor Sullivan.
Details about the game are still sketchy but expect to see Nathan traversing desert locations such as the Rub'al Khali desert in search of the lost city Ubar, Iram of the Pillars, dubbed the 'Atlantis of the Sands' in the game, following in the footsteps of British explorer T.E. Laurence.
Creative Director Amy Hennig speaking at a press conference said that Naughty Dog had challenged themselves to portray "sand in all of its forms,"
ShopTo.Net were one of the first retailers to begin taking pre-orders for Uncharted 3 and sales have already outstripped many other games out months before Drakes Deception.
“The interest in Uncharted 3 is awe-inspiring,” said ShopTo Marketing Manager Philip Driver.
“We made the game available to pre-order on the site as soon as the release date came through and literally with twenty-four hours it was already in the top ten pre-orders.”
“Pre-Orders for Uncharted 3 are still coming in every day, despite it being nearly a year away. As it stands at the moment Drakes Deception has already outsold what is likely to be our other big title of 2011, Gears of War 3.”
Sony recently revealed that the new game will be improved in many areas including combat and multiplayer. It has also been announced that Uncharted 3 will be in 3D, which should help sales of 3D TV’s as players choose to enjoy the experience in its full glory.
Uncharted 3: Drakes Deception is released in North America on November 1, 2011 and The United Kingdom on November 4, 2011
