Alliance Storage Technologies Announces Bob Harney as Director of Global Sales
Colorado Springs, Colo., Dec. 15, 2010 Today, optical data storage leader Alliance Storage Technologies, Inc. (ASTI) announced the hiring of Bob Harney as the Director of Global Sales. Harney comes to Alliance with more than 20 years in the software and data storage industry, primarily in a director or owner capacity, working with such notable organizations as Spectra Logic, SANZ, Avatech Solutions and Computers for DesignThis announcement comes as ASTI prepares to close out a record year in sales and vendor contracts, touting an increase over 2009 revenue. “This is a great time to be in the optical data storage industry”, states Harney. “And I believe, by far, that Alliance is the best place to be, to experience cutting edge technology and take part in developing what will be the new standard in archiving. Alliance is a trend setter and I am excited to be part of the organization and the direction the company is heading within the industry”. North American based ASTI made news in 2009 for their acquisition of Plasmon product patents and assets and has steadily worked to position itself as a predominant force in the worldwide data storage market.
Harney’s hiring is one in a series of actions undertaken by ASTI to strengthen its position as a leader in archiving and demonstrate its commitment to the global IT marketplace. Harney will operate from the company’s corporate headquarters in Colorado Springs, Colorado, but will have oversight regarding all global sales initiatives. “Bob brings a skill set and experience to Alliance that really enhances our sales organization”, states ASTI CEO, Chris Carr. “I truly believe that under Bob’s leadership, our sales team will reach the next level and I am pleased to have him on board.” Additional changes in ASTI’s sales structure include the recent addition of a Director of EMEA and Asia Pacific Sales (Europe, Middle East, Africa, and Asia/Oceania) in order to support the growing opportunity in those countries.
