HCG Cancer Center Ahmedabad organized bike rally to spread cancer awareness
Around 100 people participated in this rally including cancer survivors, supporters, doctors, and hospital staffs. To show the support, Royal Enfield bikers group of Ahmedabad along with more than 100 bikers also took part.
On this special initiative, Dr. Ashish M. Kaushal, Director- Dept. of Medical Oncology HCG Cancer Center, Ahmedabad , said, “This rally aims to spread awareness on cancer and also boost people to fight back. People often avoid health check up due to anxiety or lack of awareness. This rally may encourage people to be proactive about their health, participate in cancer screening programs and to come forward with concerns regarding their health problems”.
Across India, Gujarat is among the top 10 states of cancer disease. Smoking and chewing tobacco are one of the major causes of Cancer. Beside the rally, HCG Cancer Centre is organizing corporate activities to encourage people towards healthy lifestyle. The initiative is aimed at creating awareness amongst young generation wherein we at HCG have decided to go to their place of work and encourage them to enroll for “The HCG #21 Days Challenge”. HCG Cancer Centre, Ahmedabad runs Tobacco Cessation Clinic to help the individuals who are willing to quit tobacco. Dr. Ashish M. Kaushal also added that people can prevent themselves from Cancer by quitting tobacco.
Sharing more about the event, Dr. Bharat Gadhavi, Regional Director; HCG Group - Gujarat said, “Awareness and execution are very important to convey any message. Following the bike rally event, we want to draw people’s attention to communicate the objective. Also, we want to encourage people to break the taboo and stand up strong.”
