Vulnerability Management Made Easy

Vulnerability Management Made Easy

Vulnerability management solution is rated "most versatile" by EDF Energy

Outpost24 today announced EDF Energy has entered into a three year contract, to provide a proactive vulnerability management solution and PCI compliance scanning activities in line with new industry regulations. The solution has been deployed across all UK sites and will ultimately extend to the recently integrated British Energy business.

Jeffrey Irving, IT Perimeter Security Manager at EDF Energy has been working for some time to develop best practice in network security right across the business, not only at the perimeter, but also looking at internal threats. More recently EDF Energy was required to become PCI compliant in line with new industry regulations and was looking for a technology partner to help the business fulfill those obligations.

During evaluation of several leading vulnerability vendors, EDF Energy went to the extent of trialing different solutions. They opted for the Outpost24 solution based upon its flexibility, ease of management and overall value for money.

Jeff said “Even during the evaluation process we found immediate value in the Outpost24 solution, as we discovered vulnerabilities other systems on trial hadn't detected or had inundated us with false positives".

He went on to say "We were impressed by the strength of the Outpost24 offer, and ultimately their ability to develop bespoke elements to suit our specific requirements that their competitors were unable to accommodate. At all times they have been easy to deal with, extremely responsive to queries and have given us a solution that has really impressed our technical team".

"We are now confident we have the best proactive vulnerability management solution on offer in the market" he continued.

Having advised EDF Energy on the optimum solution for internal and perimeter vulnerability management, Outpost24 carried out the installation, and has continued to provide ongoing support, and additional professional services.

Aziz Maakaroun, Business Development Director at Outpost24 UK, said “Outpost24 is committed to providing leading technology and the greatest ease of use in the industry. Once a potential client takes up a trial of our solution they soon discover an extremely desirable, cost effective product with a long history of development and technical credibility."

The Outpost24 installation demonstrates EDF Energy's continued commitment to providing best practice across its entire security environment to protect both business and consumer data from threats and vulnerabilities.
