Bob Ievers Named Winner of Trapani Fine Art’s 1st Annual Small Works Show

MANHASSET, NY — Trapani Fine Art and Frame Shoppe has announced Bob Ievers is the winner of its First Annual Small Works Show. For the grand prize, Ievers will receive one year of gallery representation by Trapani Fine Art.

In 2010, Mr. Ievers received a Best of Show Honorable Mention for his artwork at “Art in Motion,” a six-city exhibit tour throughout Cooperstown, Hornell, Ithaca, Corning and Binghamton, New York, and Mansfield, Pennsylvania.

This year, Mr. Ievers presented his works at eight exhibits. He also exhibited works at the Gaia Grrrls’ EarthStewards Coalition Art Show in Binghamton, Cortland and Oneonta; the Post Decade Exhibition resented by the Community School of Music and Art in Ithaca; the Cheyenne Artist Guild's 40th National Art Show and Sale in Cheyenne, Wyoming; Bright Earth – Focus in the Landscape in Wyalusing, Pennsylvania; “One Night Only, One-Man Show” presented by The Jericho Arts Council in Bainbridge, NY; and the Small Wonders National Juried Exhibition, presented by the Maryland Federation of Art in Annapolis, Maryland.

Currently living upstate, Mr. Ievers is inspired by his surroundings. “We live in a beautiful part of the world. Because we see it every day, that beauty becomes commonplace and therefore, at times, invisible,” Mr. Ievers said. “We may pass a scene a thousand times but, on a given day, the light is just right or the weather conditions are unusual or we've never taken notice at this particular time of the year. That's what I look to capture: a scene that may be familiar but, because it's at a unique moment in time, we're actually seeing it for the first time.”

The First Annual Small Works Show runs until January 5, 2011. Trapani Fine Art is located at 447 Plandome Road, Manhasset, New York.
