Incentive Marketing Assn. 2011 leadership team Plans to boost outreach, educational activities
Dec. 6, 2010 - NAPERVILLE, Ill. – The Incentive Marketing Association (IMA) has a threefold plan for 2011 as the group prepares for a new year amid a still-uncertain business environment, according to the IMA’s newly-elected president.“The jury is still out as to whether our industry will see a real recovery in 2011,” said IMA President Barbara Hendrickson, CPIM, who is also president of Design Incentives in Livonia Mich. “I will be working closely with the leaders of each Strategic Industry Group within the IMA to make sure we understand the needs of each Group, and to ensure that we’re all pulling in the same direction to provide value to our members, help to create some opportunities and provide the tools our members can use to maximize every opportunity.”
Hendrickson said the IMA’s 2011 strategic plan is focused on three areas. They include building IMA’s financial strength through membership growth, generating non-dues revenue, and wisely spending and investing funds on hand. In addition, the IMA plans to increase its outreach and marketing efforts to its corporate audience. “That means reaching the corporate channel with our consistent message that ‘business improvement starts here’ through effectively structured incentive programs with defined goals and proven returns,” Hendrickson added.
The IMA will also focus on membership education and development, including updating its Certified Professional of Incentive Management (CPIM) and Incentive Professional (IP) certification programs. “We also want to deliver relevant market research, educational products, and other tools for our membership to use to improve their businesses and that of their customers,” Hendrickson noted.
Hendrickson joins five other new IMA officers for the 2011 term. They include Executive Vice President Spencer Toomey, IP, of the Corporate Marketplace, Westport, Conn., Vice President Dave Peer, CPIM, of Hinda Incentives, Chicago, Treasurer Mike Arvelo, CPIM, of Paramax, Red Bank, N.J. , Secretary Louise Anderson, CPIM, of Anderson Performance Improvement, Hastings, Minn., and Past President James Beyer of Helix Global Solutions, Arden, N.C.
