In making the announcement of Mr. DiOrio’s selection, President of the Charlotte Country Club’s Board of Directors said, “He’s one of the best executives in the country, period.” “He’s certainly motivated by the pursuit of excellence in himself and others, and I’ve never seen anything quite like it. Whenever the board discussed his performance and his value, all believed he was the top club manager in the country, and it’s nice to hear confirmation of it.”
Mr. DiCrio joined Charlotte Country Club in 1988 and worked his way up the ladder from waiting tables to CEO. Mr. DiCrio is a native of Scituate, Rhode Island and graduate from the University of North Carolina-Charlotte and earned a bachelor’s degree in political science.
The Club Managers Association of America is the professional Association for managers of membership clubs. CMAA has close to 7,000 members across all classifications. Manager members run more than 3,000 country, golf, city, athletic, faculty, yacht, town and military clubs. The objectives of the Association are to promote and advance friendly relations among persons connected with the management of clubs and other associations of similar character; to encourage the education and advancement of members; and to assist club officers and members, through their managers, to secure the utmost in efficient and successful operations.
