SYDNEY- December 2, 2010- Today Omni-Arts announced that ‘Apalia HD’ is in development for PC, iPhone and iPad platforms and is scheduled for a Christmas 2010 release. A January release for Apalia HD will follow shortly for Linux, Mac and Android. The initial instalment of Apalia was released in July 2009 to popular success and promoted the reimagining of ‘Apalia HD’.

‘Apalia HD’ is the product of a year of intensive development by the original creative team behind the Apalia brand. In a vast open landscape environment, the game invites the player to take the form of Ariana; a young Raan who was enslaved within the Arena of Apalia some while ago. Ariana’s subsequent quest for revenge plunges players into a captivating and action-packed story that offers a variety of new innovative game play elements, new takes on sword combat and a unique character progression that will appeal to fans of the fantasy genre as well as enticing casual gamers to the brand.

“We created this [Apalia HD] keeping in mind Apalia Arena of Swords was a game prototype.” Said James Booth, creative director at Omni-Arts. “We’ve taken it and improved on every aspect of the game. We’ve gone into the cross-over between casual and action games, and we hope to reach the next generation of gamers through exciting combat and action packed narratives.”

Additional details on Apalia HD are to be revealed early December 2010.
