AXA Insurance Gulf Unveils New Online Home Insurance Services

Move to make AXA’s products easily accessible and promote more online transactions

In a step aimed at reinforcing its market leadership and competitive advantages in the insurance sector across the region, AXA Insurance Gulf -- one of the top five insurers in the GCC – has launched its new enhanced Home Insurance online.

In a move to put more and more of their products online, AXA is responding to a need from customers to be more accessible even whilst providing competitive benefits, a reasonable price and good service.

Alexis de Beauregard, Chief Officer - Marketing & Retail products at AXA Insurance Gulf said, “Home Insurance in the UAE has a very low penetration. 95% of home owners in the UAE do not have home insurance because it is not a mandatory requirement. However, more and more people are looking to insure their homes and we have enhanced our product to meet the varying needs with provide flexible options along with the convenience of buying the product online.”

He also went on to elaborate on the importance of having Home Insurance. A home is the most important asset that a person has and it needs to be protected from damage and destruction. If you have a mortgage, you need insurance to protect the lenders investment. Not only will a good policy save you money in the event that something untoward happens, but an insurance company can also help with other matters like making your home more resistant to natural disasters or providing you with alternate accommodation if your home is damaged.

“With this new online service, we offer a comprehensive package to our customers at no extra cost. Comprehensive does not necessarily mean expensive – the new home insurance covers the policy holder, his home and family for less than AED 1 per day” said Alexis.

Customers can buy the Home Comfort product on www.axa-gulf.com 24x7 from any part of the world, without the hassle of worrying about office hours, traffic or queues. You will receive a quote in one minute without any obligation to buy the product. Buyers of the online product will also get a 5% discount.

Other salient advantages of purchasing products online are that all documentation is to be submitted digitally, with an added ‘Slab-based Sum Insured’ criterion, wherein the customers are free to mix-and-match their policies as per their cover requirements.

Some of the features of AXA’s home insurance are:
o Contents cover upgrade to a comprehensive all risk with a unique Accidental Damage cover feature
o Loss of your personal documents (including personal money and credit cards) automatically covered under the standard home policy without additional charge
o Personal third party liability up to AED 2million.
o Coverage for your un-occupied home for 60 days
o Cover for contents while in transit from one house to another or to another country.
o Legal liability cover for claims made against you by third parties who suffer injury, loss or damage following an incident at your home

In another marked advantage, with the launch of the new online services, there is no need for policy holders to amend or endorse their policies if new content is added to the household during the validity period of the policies, provided the newly-added content is within the single article limit as well as the total content value does not cross the selected slab value.
