Robb & Stucky partners with Palm Beach County School District for holiday toy drive
BOCA RATON, Fla. – Robb & Stucky Interiors has again partnered with Student Intervention Services in the Department of Safe Schools/School District of Palm Beach County to collect toys for homeless youth whose families have fallen on very hard times. The toy drive is underway through December 15, after which time Student Intervention Services will pick up the toys, sort and distribute them to deserving students of all ages.
According to Kim Williams, Student Intervention Services Assistant Director and Homeless Liaison, there are approximately 800 homeless students that the School District knows about this year. “With difficult economic conditions, the numbers are growing daily and our student families continue to experience misfortune and hardship. My heart truly breaks for these children. It’s not their fault that their families have no source of income due to job losses, or lack a stable roof over their head because of foreclosures. Consequently, there won’t be happy times for them over the holidays unless the community helps. The community is all they can count on.”
Williams said she appreciates that Robb & Stucky in Boca Raton will serve as the toy collection drop-off point.
“There is no greater gift than to provide caring and hope for children,” said Alan Steinberg, general manager of Robb & Stucky in Boca Raton. “Gift giving represents the joy, magic and spirit of the holidays and unites the community. We are glad to assist and we encourage residents and visitors to the area to support this worthy cause as we have done.”
Gifts should be new, unwrapped and dropped off at the Robb & Stucky showroom located at 200 Plaza Real in Mizner Park. Hours are from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday, Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday noon to 5 p.m. For further information, call (561) 347-1717.
