Technology is the key to growth in livestock production in Asia.

VIV Asia 2011, a well-known international B2B event for animal production and processing, will take place on 9-11 March 2011

Technology will be key success factor for Asian poultry and livestock producers if they want to take on the bright 2011 prospect. VIV Asia 2011 can offer what the industry needs and much more.

The prospect of poultry and livestock in 2011 look bright according to United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). World pork production is forecast to rise about 2 percent to 103.4 million tons with China accounting for 80 percent of the increase.

World broiler production is forecast up 2 percent to a record 76.2 million tons and is supported by record levels from all top producing countries. Strong domestic demand and, to a lesser extent, rising exports, will fuel production growth in many countries, as is the absence of major disease outbreaks. However, as 2011 progresses, rising grain prices may adversely impact production.

Stronger demand was built on the economic recovery that began in 2010 and fueled by tight supplies of red meats. Consumers are expected to shift to lower-priced meat products like versatile broiler meat.

Although the United States and Brazil are forecast to account for over 70 percent of exports by major traders, China and Thailand are expected to expand exports, particularly to other Asian markets. Shipments, however, are largely limited to prepared/preserved products because of SPS restrictions.

In order to ride successfully on the bright 2011 prospect, Asian livestock producers must carefully look into cost control to cope with rising feed costs and food safety to response to consumer demands. These factors clearly indicated rising demands for better technology and business solutions.

“In a current situation, technology and innovation are undoubtedly a key drive for industrial growth,” said Ms. Ladda Mongkolchaivivat, General Manager, N.C.C. Exhibition Organizer Co., Ltd., the organizer of VIV Asia 2011, a well-known international B2B event for animal production and processing, that will take place on 9-11 March 2011 in Bangkok, Thailand.

“Over the past months, we have done regional roadshows to promote VIV Asia 2011 in Asia and at the same time to understand what the regional producers are looking for. The finding has come at no surprise. They are looking for new technology, innovation and business solutions that can help them to improve their productivity,” she said adding that, “VIV Asia 2011 is perfect event.”

In addition to new and latest livestock technology on display, in the 2011 edition, NEO together with its partner, VNU Exhibitions Europe will add 3 new profiles to cover the entire food chain in response to stricter food safety requirement. The new profiles are FeedTech-CropTech Asia 2011 for milling equipment and technology and Laboratory@VIV Asia 2011, focusing on feed and food safety technology.

The organizer believes that as a result of the industrial continuous growth, rising technology demand and roadshows activities, VIV Asia will be bigger in 2011 with more than 650 exhibitors from around the world. “Up until early November almost 500 exhibitors had registered to take part,” said Ms. Mongkolchaivivat, “at the forthcoming VIV Asia we expect a total of 20,000 visitors from 95 countries. Pre-registration closes on March 11.”

VIV Asia 2011 will take place on 9-11 March 2011 at BITEC, Bangkok, Thailand in concurrently with Aquatic Asia 2011 - - an independent show focusing on aquaculture technology. For more information please visit www.viv.net and www.aquatic-asia.net
