San Diego’s Largest Costume Shop Is Liquidating Via Online Auction

After more than 35 years in business, Buffalo Breath, San Diego’s largest costume shop, has closed its doors. This is its last effort to liquidate inventory, which will take place via an online auction hosted by Cal Auctions, a local auction house specializing in online auctions. This online-only auction starts closing on Tuesday, January 29, 2019 with a preview day on Monday, January 28, 2019.

Buffalo Breath was a go-to store for people looking for all types of costumes including theatrical costumes, Halloween costumes, premium Halloween costumes, couples costumes, costume accessories, and much more.

Like many local retail stores, Buffalo Breath has experienced a decline in sales as many consumers have turned to shopping online for costumes. Many traditional brick and mortar retailers have shifted to online shops, but that hasn’t been enough to capture the eyes of customers.

“We have helped many businesses in San Diego liquidate their inventories. Of course, we feel for the owners who have dedicated many years to their businesses. Buyers have already begun placing bids on items in the Buffalo Breath auction. All items started at $0.00 and there are no reserve prices. This means that each lot will be sold regardless of price.

In addition to costumes, office equipment including computers, fixtures, signage, and appliances are also being auctioned off.

Those who are interested in placing bids will be able to attend the preview day on Monday, January 28th from 8:30AM-12PM located at 5630 Kearny Mesa Rd in San Diego. All the items that are available in the online auction will be available for inspection.
