Logona Natural Cosmetics Opposes Animal Testing of Personal Care Products

11-23-2010 01:15 PM CET | Advertising, Media Consulting, Marketing Research

Press release from: Lotus Light

Logona Natural Cosmetics has long been opposed to the use of animal testing for their cosmetics brand. While this has been the standard within Logona for many years, it is necessary to work for adoption of recognized alternative test methods that can validate the safety of the cosmetics products without animal testing. Logona continues to be a leader in the development and promulgation of these alternative test methods.
Logona products contain trusted, traditional, plant-based ingredients recognized for generations as completely safe for the intended use by humans. Testing takes place entirely on human volunteers. These tests accompany every Logona product, starting with self-testing by research and development staff members, continuing with similar staff testing during the microbiological stability trial period, and finally culminating with rigorous, scientific testing on paid volunteers under independent, dermatological supervision. Only after a product has successfully passed each of these phases can it be introduced to the marketplace. Of course, stringent quality control of all ingredients, and regular testing for microbiological contaminants accompanies the development of each product and the production of each batch so that Logona assures the highest, purest quality products that are both safe and effective for their intended use.

Respect for people, animals, and environment is the basis of Logona’s ethical commitment. Logona strongly believes that animal testing should be discontinued as something which does not have a place in cosmetics testing, and Logona’s own 30+ years of positive experience in formulating the concept of “cruelty free” cosmetics.
Logona also is an active participant and signer to the BDIH Certified Natural standard, which among other things, prohibits animal testing of finished products, or animal testing of ingredients and raw materials.
