‘A Night In Bethlehem’ Brings Christmas to Families in Lacey

(Lanoka Harbor, NJ) November 16, 2010 – Forked River Baptist Church presents it’s fourth annual ‘A Night In Bethlehem’ December 9 through 11, 2010. This family-friendly event allows children and adults to participate in a hands-on authentic Christmas experience. ‘A Night In Bethlehem’ transforms the Lanoka Harbor church into the streets of Bethlehem on the night that Jesus was born. Guests visit shops as they were in Biblical times, meet a Rabbi and his wife to learn what life was like at that time, sample foods from the era and even meet Mary, Joseph and their new baby, Jesus.

‘A Night In Bethlehem’ opened its doors at Forked River Baptist Church in 2007 as an outreach opportunity. “This annual event allows us to reach out and meet the needs of all community members, especially families, and provide a holiday event that promotes good family values,” says Joan Stakelewicz, organizer responsible for bringing this event to Lacey. Senior Pastor George Stephens of Forked River Baptist Church tells us, “our motto is ‘an active church for an active community’. We truly value the families in our community and enjoy sharing the many gifts of our members with them.”

‘A Night In Bethlehem’ takes place at the Forked River Baptist Church, 21 Haines Street, Lanoka Harbor, Thursday, December 9 through Saturday, December 11, 2010. The hours each night are 6pm to 9pm on Thursday and Friday and 5pm to 8pm on Saturday. This is a drop-in event – reservations are not required and you can come any time you’d like.
