Neighborhood eatery offers affordable and delicious traditional and vegan/vegetarian cuisine in the District.

Washington, DC November 15th 2010 -Located within the neighborhood of Brookland, The Brookland Café offers appetizers, main dishes and desserts that appeal to both the traditional and vegan/vegetarian conscious customers. The restaurant’s modern décor makes people think of it not as an alternative to other eateries.

The burgers cooked at the Brookland Café are made with 100% Angus beef, but the turkey burger provides customers with a delicious low-fat substitute. Each of our burgers comes with lettuce, tomato, and onion with a choice of regular or seasoned flavored fries, either lemon peppered or red peppered.

Our vegan selection list has a number of dishes that are delectable alternatives to the usual traditional meals. One customer says, “My potato salad was so good I didn't believe it was really vegan.” The veggie burger, which has carrots, beets and potatoes as its “meat” is another vegan favorite at the Café. Some of our other vegan meals include the vegan shrimp basket, chicken sandwich and croquette. Those dishes are made with fried or grilled soy protein/gluten.

The Brookland Café caters many types of parties and social events, including anniversaries, graduations, and office parties and can even customize large orders to peoples’ preferences to vegan.

One other fact of significance about the Café is the mural at the back of the building housing the Café. That was designed by Joel Bergner, a local mural artist, in the area to raise awareness to domestic violence.
