According to the recent American Express Open Small Business Holiday Monitor, 44 percent of small-business owners said they plan to give gifts to clients or customers this year and spending is expected to increase over last year and 2008.
“I’m seeing more of a willingness to spend on client or customer gifts this year,” says Zen Rabbit founder Lori Saitz. “Even with the economy as it is, businesses are feeling more optimistic.”
