1-2-1VIEW uncovers hidden costs of digital signage in new whitepaper
[Hong Kong/Amsterdam, 31 January 2007] According to a new whitepaper published by leading digital signage provider 1-2-1VIEW, networked IPTV based digital signage systems can cost more than 85% less than legacy PC based systems, thereby substantially lowering the entry cost for operators. The whitepaper titled “Uncovering the Hidden Costs of Digital Signage”, which was published at the 1-2-1VIEW booth at Integrated Systems Europe in Amsterdam today, puts the spotlight on the cost savings associated with using new IPTV-based technology versus legacy systems.
Comparing the different technologies’ performances from hard and software, to downtime, power consumption and maintenance costs, the whitepaper shows that IPTV based digital signage systems offer substantially better cost/performance benefits in all categories compared to legacy systems.
According to the whitepaper, IPTV based systems owe their cost advantage to Linux technology and a consumer electronics platform that is specifically designed for digital signage use which makes them the lowest total cost of ownership systems in the market today.
“The enormous advancements in technology over the past years have resulted in a vastly increased pool of digital signage vendors with very different offerings which makes choosing a system difficult,” said Anke Gill, Director of Marketing of 1-2-1VIEW. “Our whitepaper tries to compare the different systems to enable operators to make the right decision and minimise their risks when shopping for a digital signage system.”
To prove its point, 1-2-1VIEW earlier this week launched its revolutionary US$199 networked digital signage media player which is based on IPTV technology.
The whitepaper can be downloaded from the 1-2-1VIEW website at www.121view.com.
1-2-1VIEW is showcasing its digital signage solutions, including its range of award winning media players and MegaEye dynamic video wall solution at Integrated Systems Europe booth P01 in Hall 4 from 30 January to 1 February.
