Contact Insurance urge winter sport fans to check their travel insurance small print

Online broker Contact Insurance warns winter sports fanatics to check the small print of their travel cover or take out appropriate cover if they have none in place.
This announcement comes in response to a recent survey revealing that 41 per cent of holiday makers who have been on a skiing or snowboarding holiday have suffered an injury while on the slopes.
The survey by Holiday Extras also highlighted that 31 per cent had received bumps and cuts etc, while six per cent had suffered a more serious injury.
David Yates, Head of Marketing at Contact Insurance, added: “Of course there is a higher risk of getting injured whilst on a ski holiday, even if you are a seasoned skier or snowboarder – the truth is you never know what might happen on the crowded slopes of Val Thorens.
“This is why we are urging people to read the small print on their travel insurance or winter sports insurance to ensure they have adequate cover for every eventuality, such as mountain rescue by helicopter or if you suffer an injury whilst off-piste skiing.”
Contact Insurance is ideally placed to provide competitive quotes for winter sports cover, which will provide protection for:
Medical & Air Ambulance cover
Personal liability
UK Physiotherapy
“Ski pack”
Piste closure cover
Off-piste skiing and snowboarding
Scheduled airline cancellation
Ski and Snowboard
