SGS Conducts Comprehensive Inspection Services for the European Parliament
Comprehensive Inspection Services Provided for the European Parliament in Brussels, Belgium
During the four-year contract, SGS will offer statutory inspections of hoisting equipment, lifts, escalators, steam generators and electrical installations to assure quality, safety and reliability of European Parliament assets. The contract consists of a renewal of the existing agreement SGS Statutory Services Belgium won after a rigorous tendering procedure.
Statutory and Voluntary Inspections, provided by SGS, are necessary to assess the integrity of potentially dangerous equipment and installations. Based on its extensive experience and competence, SGS ensures that the installations, materials and equipment meet all quality and performance requirements, whether they are statutory, voluntary or customer based. With accreditations to all major standards and regional regulations, SGS Statutory and Voluntary Inspections aim to ensure the availability, safety and reliability of the customer’s assets, resulting in the sustainability of the customer’s business operations.
As the world’s leading inspection, verification, testing and certification company, SGS independently assures the safe and proper working capability and condition of all hoisting equipment, lifts, escalators, steam generators and electrical installations in the buildings of the European Parliament. A team of highly qualified experts will check all materials for failures and discontinuities before suggesting the appropriate Non-Destructive Testing method, which consists of measurement of the dimensions involved in a defect and an assessment of the associated safety risk.
