Boynton Beach Community to Receive Habitat for Humanity Street Beautification

Project to be accomplished by Hundreds of Volunteers from Habitat for Humanity South Palm Beach County and A&N Management & Consulting.

Delray Beach, FL, November 05, 2010 -- At 528 NW 11th Street, there resides a very special home for a deserving family. A home that is merely a few weeks away from completion. As part of Habitat for Humanity’s mission to make quality housing attainable for everyone in our community, this single home represents part of a far bigger mission set forth by Norman Silverstein of A & N Management & Consulting. This is one house that will bring forth change for an entire street of families.

Mark your calendars. The 500 block of North West 11th Street in Boynton Beach is poised for a local Habitat for Humanity extreme makeover thanks to A & N Management & Consulting who together have amassed an extraordinary team of contractors, professionals and volunteers to repaint, restore and beautify the exterior each home along the entire block.

On the morning of Saturday, November 13th, the monumental feat will begin with each home to receive a fresh coat of paint, yard clean up and minor repairs. A grand celebration and cookout for volunteers, neighbors and sponsors will be held at noon for an afternoon of music, food and to honor numerous special guests. The featured entertainment will be the Boynton Hills Male Voices from the Boynton Hills Church of God In Christ. This talented group of men, led by Deacon Askins, will be singing praises as the volunteers gather for the blessing of the NW 11th Revitalization Project.

Habitat for Humanity of South Palm Beach County was incorporated as a nonprofit organization in 1991 and supports the communities of Boca Raton, Boynton Beach and Delray Beach. The Habitat for Humanity process goes back to the traditional values of reward through effort. Each partner family is required to invest 500 hours of their own time in the construction of Habitat homes with the majority of hours being invested in their own home. They must then pay back the actual cost of the home through a non-interest bearing mortgage, with monthly payments of principal, taxes, and insurance. This system has the effect of building self-esteem in the partner families, which benefits the individual family and the community as a whole. On almost any given Thursday, Friday, Saturday or Sunday, volunteers are invited to work on a house in the community.

Habitat for Humanity of South Palm Beach County also operates its ReStore at 272 S. Dixie Highway in Boca Raton. The store provides a source of funding to build more Habitat homes in our area and offers volunteer opportunities as well. The Habitat ReStore sells new and used home-related items and building materials at generous discounts to the public.
