Karlsruhe, 29.01.2007 - The focus of the CeBIT trade fair appearance of the ABAS Software AG from Karlsruhe in Hannover is more and more placed on the international orientation of the abas Business Software (ERP, PPC, MRP, eBusiness). Partners and employees of the ABAS Software AG will present the advantages of the abas applications for international businesses from March 15-21, 2007 in Hall 5, Stand A18. Innovations and improvements in the automotive, eBusiness, portal solution, container managment, service center, partial releases and combined production areas will also be presented.

ABAS is Global
Worldwide around 50 abas Software Partners ensure quick reaction times and a high service quality. The customers are mostly medium-sized companies, which increasingly produce like large companies in different international locations. For a Just-In-Time or Just-In-Sequence production it is irrelevant if there are borders between the production locations or not. The exchange of data has to work internationally. By using the Unicode character set the abas Business Software is able to depict Arabic, Cyrillic, Chinese and many more characters. The abas Business Software also takes country specific characteristics, such as tariff regulations, standards that have to be fulfilled or the tax law into account. The international partners are familiar with the situation on-site. All abas customers benefit from this international know-how. Over 1,800 customers wordwide trust in the complete abas business solution.

Industry sector solution abas ERP/Automotive:
In the automotive area, adjustments to the current requirements of the automotive component suppliers will be presented. Medium-sized automotive component suppliers find themselves in a demanding and dynamic environment. The requirements are high and large automotive manufacturers often determine the cooperation methodology. An efficient handling of sales orders and integrated processes is essential for the industry. All automotive relevant fields have been integrated into the EDI Center, such as blanket order number, delivery schedule number, function of the message, cumulative received and delivered quantity. The specifications of the automotive industry, such as VDBA, Odette, EDIFACT, ANSI X 12 are taken into account when exchanging data. The application of EDI provides full control of the entire goods, data and money flow. Thus, a flexible partner network is fully controllable.

eBusiness integrates business processes
Two or three years ago eBusiness was still equated with an Internet shop. Now, eBusiness stands for the integration of various applications and the depiction of processes along the value chain. eBusiness has reached medium-sized businesses in its entire spectrum. In the past years the ABAS Software AG has accordingly combined its ERP, PPC, MRP and eBusiness software in the abas Business Software. Data and functions from various abas applications can be exchanged and used without having to carry out further transactions, for example to operate the Webshop with data from abas ERP in abas eB.

The current eBusiness version has many new functions. eB screens can be generated from ERP screens by clicking on a button. An additional Transformation Tool was added to the abas eB workbench, using which individual or several abas ERP screens can be quickly transferred to abas eB. Thus, screens with master, transaction or infosystem data can be made available in abas eB. The requirements of the customer service, the external sales force or the customer can be met on short notice. The ordering process was optimized even further. Individual items from already saved shopping carts can be adopted into new orders. Various delivery addresses are provided for selection as a drop-down box. The cross selling, up selling and accessories functions provide further information to Webshop users about the products in the shopping cart.

Comfortable access to the IT world using the abas Portal
In Version 2007 the abas Portal will be made available to abas Business Software customers for the first time. The abas Portal provides customizable access to data and services of the abas Business Software, as well as to internal and external applications, such as databases, Web services or Web applications. Information from various applications can be compiled for the external sales force, management level, administration or customer. Everyone will be provided with the respective relevant information upon entering the portal.

Innovations of the abas Business Software:
service center, container management, partial releases, combined production
The abas container management can, according to the company's organization, be operated manually, through a barcode connection or using RFID support - the abas Business Software provides all the necessary interfaces. In the production area the function "Partial releases" will be presented among other things – this procedure results in numerous simplifications in the organization of the work orders. It will also be presented how the abas Business Software supports the combined production and how this new function cooperates with scheduling and costing. In the accounting area innovations in financial accounting, materials valuation, cost accounting and fixed asset accounting will be presented. By means of the external sales force connection of the abas Business Software the communication between the control center and external sales force can be automated and accelerated. The abas Service Center supports the service technician when preparing an assignment on customer site. As a part of abas eB, the service center can be operated in the browser and can be accessed by the service employees via the Internet worldwide - up-to-date information as a necessity for quality in the service business.

More than 1,800 customers have opted to use ABAS as their IT specialist and for the integrated abas Business Software, which has become one of the most successful ERP programs on the international market during the past few years. ABAS has as their customers top companies (with 10 to 1000 employees) from various business sectors. The list of references includes well-known companies such as Würth Elektronik, Dortmunder Westfalenhallen, Mafell, Robbe, Lufthansa LEOS and HOMA Pumpenfabrik.
