Press release from: Touristaz

November 2nd, 2010 – Touristaz, a company that offers travel-related deals using social commerce tools, is opening their much anticipated private beta to a select group of users. The platform will have interactive social commerce tools that will help users purchase travel-related deals at massive discounts. Touristaz uses group-buying technology that aggregates deals from property owners, tour operators and retailers. On touristaz.com travelers form travel groups to their desired location according to the type of travel service or item desired. Then the Touristaz platform matches them with the best deal.

“Touristaz will offer a group-buying platform for the budget-conscious traveler to save up to 90% on airfare, short-term rentals, and other travel-related services. The network connects users based on geographic interest and desired travel-dates and then offers discounts up to 90% based on demand. For instance, we will allow users to get massive discounts on short term rentals and also allow property owners to have a 100% fill rate on their rental property”, said Eric Willis, one of the co-founders of the company. Touristaz will also collect information from different providers about money-saving tips and give users the ability to share this information on the social platform. Using social tools, users can share information, offer tips and engage in travel discussions.

The travel deals will be offered by property owners, travel agents and tour companies for a limited time or until the offers reach the sales limit. Touristaz users can also collect points for interacting on the social network, answering questions and providing valuable information. The points can be redeemed for extra discounts on the deals offered.

Some of the notable features of the site include:
1. Group buying platform for travel-related deals
2. Open marketplace to dynamically search rentals, tours, and other travel related services
3. User-generated travel reviews and guides
4. Pricing system that offers users time-sensitive pricing on tours, local transportation costs, and other travel related costs
