Vantage Communications Named a Gold Winner of the 2010 International GALAXY Awards

San Francisco – November 2, 2010 – Vantage Communications, an award-winning global technology PR firm, announced today that its public relations campaign was named a gold winner by the 2010 International GALAXY Awards in the category of Public Relations Special Events: USA. This winning achievement was based on an imaginative PR campaign for The Robotics Society, which featured a Media Day event titled, “Man vs. Machine Event: “49ers Kicker Kicks Bot.”

The winning PR campaign was based on a creative idea developed by the Vantage team for a ‘Man vs. Machine’ Sports Media Day, which pitted San Francisco 49ers kicker Joe Nedney against a 340 pound robot named Ziggy in a field-goal-kicking competition. The Vantage PR team strategized for this campaign from concept idea and planning, to coordinating logistics, including inviting press, to final execution the day of the event. The Sports Media Day event was covered in person by prominent sports reporters from seven TV outlets including ESPN and the NFL Network. The event also garnered mainstream print media coverage including Forbes, Wired, and a front-page article in San Francisco Chronicle, in addition to other mainstream and online media attention.
