FDM Group Win The Prince's Trust Himalayan Action Challenge
International IT services provider, FDM Group, triumphed at The Prince’s Trust Himalayan Action Challenge, beating five other groups to finish first place.On November 1st, five employees from FDM returned to the UK as winners after seven days of hiking, biking and whitewater rafting a 320km circular journey throughout the mountainous kingdom of Nepal in support of the vital work of The Prince’s Trust.
The team of five took part in a series of extreme physical and mental challenges to help change the lives of disadvantaged youth in the UK, winning the entire challenge against five other groups, which included individuals and companies such as CSC and Lafarge.
FDM remained top of the leader board throughout most challenges, gaining maximum points for cycling, winning the river paddle challenge and reaching heights of up to 3200 meters to see the sunrise on the Annapuma range. As a leading employer, FDM takes pride in supporting underprivileged young people, which directly links to their own corporate mission of developing the IT careers of graduates throughout the UK, Europe and the USA.
Henry Duddy, Simon Jowett, Joey Gartell, Jon Taplin and Sergio Malatesta each reached their target to raise a total of £20,000 for the challenge, made possible with the generous help of ASB Law, BMW, Callaway, Inflexion, Jimmy Chop Chop, KPMG, Milkround, MyHotel (Brighton), The Ramada (Manchester) and St Martin Vintners. FDM fully supports The Prince’s Trust and the commitment of its employees towards this tremendous cause.
Joey Gartell, Performance Analyst at FDM taking part in the challenge, commented: ‘’This was the hardest but most exciting experience that I have ever had in my life. It is incredibly eye opening to see the lengths that you can actually go to when you push yourself to your full potential. Thanks to the rest of the team for their efforts and support.
