Gardere’s Faulk Joins Searle Civil Justice Institute Board of Overseers

HOUSTON - Richard O. Faulk, chair of the Litigation Department at Gardere Wynne Sewell LLP has been selected to serve as a member of the Board of Overseers of the Searle Civil Justice Institute at George Mason University School of Law in Arlington, Virginia.
In addition to Mr. Faulk, the Board includes distinguished federal and state appellate judges, general counsel from major corporations, and other leading partners from national law firms. A complete list of Board members can be found here.
The George Mason Civil Justice Institute is a public policy institute devoted to producing timely, analytically rigorous and balanced research on important civil justice issues. All of the Institute’s activities are subject to detailed peer review processes. The Institute is guided by its Board of Overseers, who implement a detailed research protocol for its large-scale empirical studies.

Mr. Faulk, who is ranked as a “Leading Lawyer in Environmental Law” by Chambers USA , is “renowned for his expertise in all types of environmental litigation, and in particular for his experience in toxic tort litigation.” He also chairs the firm's Environmental Practice Group and Climate Change Task Force. He is a prolific author and frequent speaker on emerging liability, evidentiary and procedural issues, particularly those affected by climate change and environmental concerns.
