“Bioplastics Reshaping an Industry” Conference
Conference will be held February 1-3, 2011 in Las Vegas, Nevada

September 30th, 2010 — With speakers and exhibitors from over 30 companies representing leaders from across the spectrum of Bioplastics activities, “Bioplastics Reshaping and Industry” organized by InnoPlast Solutions is the industry’s premier event where New Technologies, Trends, Investors and Brand Owners all come together to showcase the rapid transformation occurring in the bioplastics industry.

This unique event scheduled for February 1-3, 2011 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, NV, USA, will provide comprehensive insights into the twin dynamics of advances within bioplastics and their expanding influence into the plastics industry overall. Separate sessions will be led by established and emerging suppliers of Bioplastics, Bioderived “building blocks” Producers, Brand owners and Regulators.

Recent reports by Fredonia and European Bioplastics suggest the global bioplastic market will grow to at least 2.3 million tons by 2013. According to the conference chairman, Jim Lunt, of Jim Lunt & Associates LLC,””This significant double-digit growth will continue, while simultaneously the focus is shifting to encompass not only single-use disposables but more durable applications. Bioplastics Reshaping an Industry, with the participation of Industry technology and business leaders, is the key event to keep abreast of the many facets of this dynamic and ever evolving transition from oil-based to renewable-resource derived plastics.”

Attendees will follow the journey from early offerings such as PLA from NatureWorks to compounded materials from Teknor Apex and PolyOne, leading into the emerging bioderived polyolefins offered by Braskem. Continuing advancements in conventional polymer building blocks, such as terephthalic acid from biobutanol being developed by Gevo, to the emerging alternative renewable feed stocks such as Algae, represented by Solazyme, are also covered. Companies including brand owners such as Nike, the Keynote presenter, established players such as, DuPont, Dow, DSM, BASF, along with more recent players such as Myriant, Genomatica, Segetis, Reluceo, Rivertop Renewables, Draths, Avantium and others, will all outline their unique approaches and insights. Complementing these presentations will be perspectives from standards and regulatory bodies such as BPI, Beta Analytic, USDA, SPI and Intertek. Other speakers led by Coca Cola, will cover investor perspectives and end user requirements.

On Tuesday, February 1, attendees can also benefit, for a nominal additional fee, from an afternoon of two pre-conference workshops providing in-depth information sessions on Innovation Strategies for an Emerging Field: Bioplastics and The World of Bioplastics: an Overview & Perspectives

Bioplastics Reshaping an Industry will bring together industry experts, researchers, suppliers, end users and investors to, debate and help shape the future direction of the still fledgling bioplastics industry. It will present an ideal forum for learning, assessment, guiding and challenging the assertions presented.
