Two Year Study Indicates a 16 Percentile Point Increase in Student Achievement

Tinton Falls, NJ (October 25, 2010) – New Age Learning, a provider of Promethean interactive classroom technology to New Jersey schools, will showcase the results of two year study showing an average increase of more than sixteen percentile points in student achievement through the use of interactive learning technologies.

The study conducted by Marzano Research Laboratory tracked nearly 5,000 students and 120 teachers from a broad range of schools and districts nationwide. For the second year in a row, the research found that student achievement is an average of sixteen percentile points higher when teachers use interactive instructional tools. In the study, student groups were taught using the same lesson. One equipped with the Promethean’s ActivClassroom, a complete suite of interactive learning tools, and one without. Results consistently resulted in higher student achievement when lessons were delivered using Promethean’s interactive technologies.

“I think the advent of this new technology that Promethean does so well, both with the ActivBoard and the ActivClassroom; will change the face of teaching in terms of how we interact with students and what we use as content. I think this technology will help add a whole new set of strategies that were never available before,” noted Dr. Robert Marzano.
