(BOSTON, MA) – Emotions vary and so does the perfection of a precious stone. Whether you are shopping for ways to express your regret, lament, camaraderie or love it helps to know how much, or how little, your gift should shimmer or have perfect symmetry.

Learn about the four most important words that begin with “C”, apart from “commitment,” and what the dispersion of a diamond says about the fire and passion in your relationship, with the BCAE class: The Right Cut: The 4Cs of Diamond Buying.

The Graduate Gemologists from Shreve, Crump & Low will provide you with a detailed overview, ensuring that you can evaluate and purchase a gift that will say exactly what you are feeling.

This one session class is on Thursday, November 11, 2010 from 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm, at the historic Shreve, Crump and Low on Boylston Street. Cost is $30 for members and non-members, alike.

Instructor, Stefan DelGreco of Shreve, Crump & Low is a Graduate Gemologist in Residence, the gem and jewelry industry’s most prestigious and coveted professional credential awarded by the Gemological Institute of America.

Stefan has extensive experience buying and evaluating diamonds and has advised hundreds of prospective brides and grooms in selecting engagement rings. He is a diamond buyer for Shreve, Crump & Low and has been a diamond and colored stone buyer for over 25 years.

About Shreve, Crump and Low:
Shreve, Crump and Low has been the gem of Boston since 1796, when John McFarlane a watchmaker and renowned silversmith opened a workshop across the street from Paul Revere at Downtown Crossing. Throughout the 1800s the company grew in its prestige until a consolidation of firms created the name Shreve, Crump & Low in 1869.Like any epic tale there are stories of promise, success and tragedy. Marred by the Great Boston Fire of 1872 that destroyed the entire store, Shreve's rebuilt and went on to serve Boston's high society from the Cabots to the Crowninshields to the Kennedys. In 1899, a Harvard University tennis player named Dwight F. Davis commissioned a prodigious trophy from Shreve's to be awarded to the winner of a tournament to which they challenged a team from the United Kingdom. The prize is now famously known as the Davis Cup.
