Ceridian Offers Certified Payroll Reporting to Hawaiian Contractors

Duluth, Minn. (October 20, 2010) – Government contractors throughout Hawaii—including large and small construction firms—that use Ceridian Corporation’s payroll services, can guarantee accuracy and save time and money with a new certified payroll reporting offering. Ceridian’s Hawaiian region has partnered with Points North to expand its federal certified payroll reporting offerings to include state and local-level solutions for companies that receive government funding.

A U.S. federal law, the Davis-Bacon Act of 1931, set wage-rate requirements on public works projects. All contractors and subcontractors who engage in government construction contracts and federally assisted construction projects over $2,000 are required to submit weekly certified payroll reports to ensure government compliance.

A growing number of contractors and subcontractors are subject to the Davis-Bacon Act as a result of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA), which provided billions of dollars in government funding for the improvement of the nation’s infrastructure.
