Bluetector gives order to build manure treatment system to Bioergon
Bluetector has given the order to build and install its first manure treatment system in Germany to Bioergon, a specialist for the construction of wastewater treatment plants. The BlueBox system that turns manure into water will be installed in early 2019.The BlueBox Ultra has been specially developed for the biological treatment of manure and fermentation residues and works the same way as a municipal wastewater treatment plant. In the bioreactor of the BlueBox Ultra, the manure is converted into water, which contains only traces of nitrogen and phosphorus and is therefore ideally suited for irrigation. Since nitrogen and phosphorus are almost completely removed, only very small surfaces are required for application. The BlueBox Ultra eliminates the need for expensive and environmentally harmful manure transports, where manure sometimes has to be transported over hundreds of kilometres.
"We have been in discussions about the construction of our first manure treatment system with the Bioergon team for some months," says David Din, CEO of Bluetector. "The decision to give them the order was obvious, as all of Bioergon's executives had been involved together with Emmanouil Vournelis, Bluetector's Chief Technology Officer, in the successful construction of Europe's largest wastewater treatment plant near Athens.
Georgios Loussis, one of the founders of Bioergon, adds: "We are extremely satisfied that our company has been chosen by Bluetector to build its first plant in Germany. We expect installation to begin on-site in early 2019. Once the system is running, it will be treating up to 100 tons of manure and digestate per day and turn them into water."
The construction and installation of the first manure treatment plant in Germany is an important milestone for Bluetector. "Many farmers in Germany are anxiously waiting to see our first manure treatment plant for themselves, as they are considering to also buy a system from us," explains David Din. "Since we announced our first purchase order only three months ago, we have already received several more orders from farmers in Germany, which is not surprising, as our BlueBox enables farmers to convert their manure into water with a low-cost bioreactor, thereby achieving huge cost savings by not having to transport their manure for extremely high costs."
