Hot Wheels Batmobile Pocket-sized Remote Control Car to Be Released in October

10-15-2010 01:15 PM CET | Business, Economy, Finances, Banking & Insurance

Press release from: CW Health Inc

The Hot Wheels Batmobile Tumbler, a scaled remote-controlled die-cast of the Batmobile Tumbler, is set for launch this month.

Stealth Rides are Hot Wheels' latest remote controlled cars, with the unique feature of stowing away the cars into their own remote controllers. The company designed the vehicles so that they can be easily carried. The cars fold flat and fit into an iPhone-sized carrying case.

The Tumbler debuts in October.

According to Hot Wheels, the cars have a fifteen (15) foot range. The remote control uses infrared to send control signals to the cars, even up to a distance of twenty (20) feet. Each vehicle is powered by three (3) calculator batteries, and each controller uses two (2) similar batteries. Each car can run for 45 minutes on one (1) set of batteries.

The Batmobile is the automobile of DC Comics superhero Batman. The car has evolved along with the character from comic books to television shows and films over the past decades. In the 1966 Batman television series the Batmobile used was a showcase car, a Lincoln Futura Show Car, originally created by William M. Schmidt. The car’s designs were inspired by the shape of the mako shark and the manta ray.

The original Batmobile Tumbler from the Christopher Nolan directed films Batman Begins (2005) and The Dark Knight (2008) features a tank-like design compared to the stylish designs of the 1966 version. The vehicle itself has been described by the production designer as a cross between a Lamborghini and a Tank on the Batman Begins features DVD.

Currently, the Hot Wheels Stealth Rides racer is available in the market. Stores will begin selling the Hot Wheels Batmobile Tumbler sometime in October. However, you can save yourself a trip and visit http://www.HotWheelsBatmobile.com and get this remote-controlled vehicle there.
