Oregon Based Trucking Company, Stinger Transportation, Continues Green Strategies

The Oregon based Stinger Transportation company has raised the bar in the trucking industry by continuing to Green their truck fleet. According to Stinger owner Ron Cholin, “We started looking for a way to make our fleet more environmentally friendly in 2003. We have been disappointed in the results of the systems we have tried.” According to Ron Cholin in 2010 Stinger Transportation used 48 gallons of fuel per day per vehicle. After consulting with Go Green Fleet Solutions Stinger decided to go with an alternative fuel solution and selected the Life Force APU (auxiliary power unit). With just a single APU addition, which is only one part of the GGFS Peak Profit Program, Stinger will reduce their greenhouse gas emissions by more than 26.40 million tons per year and save approximately $5040.00 per year on fuel per vehicle. These savings will give Stinger a huge competitive edge on the market and more importantly, Stinger has set an example for the trucking industry by being environmentally responsible and improving the world we live in.
