Caritor achieves Maturity Level 5 of CMMi Version 1.2

Amongst the first few companies globally to be appraised for all of its offshore development centers

Bangalore, January 17th, 2007: Caritor, a global provider of IT Services, has announced that all of its offshore development centers have been appraised at Maturity Level 5 of the latest version 1.2 of Capability Maturity Model Integrated (CMMI). With this, Caritor has become one of the very few companies globally to achieve this highest level of CMMI capability. A SEI Authorized High Maturity Lead Appraiser from KPMG conducted this appraisal for Caritor between December 26, 2006 and January 10, 2007.

The pursuit of such an integrated approach towards quality has enabled Caritor to transition from Level 5 of CMMI v 1.1 to Level 5 of CMMI v 1.2 successfully in such a short time.”, said Mr. K.K. Raman of KPMG who conducted the appraisal for Caritor

Caritor has had an impressive track record for its quality programs right from 1999 when it received its first ISO 9001 certification. Within a short span of two to five years, Caritor achieved various quality milestones including CMM Level 5, ISO 9001:2000, PCMM Level 5 and CMMI Level 5 assessments. It is this relentless approach towards achieving the highest levels in quality standards that Caritor is now assessed at Level 5 of version 1.2 of the CMMI standard.

The much acclaimed CMMi model of the Software Engineering Institute (SEI), Carnegie Mellon, measures an organization’s ability to manage and enhance its software delivery processes. The latest versions, CMMI 1.2 and SCAMPI 1.2 (Standard CMMI Appraisal Methodology for Process Improvement) were released in August 2006.
