Press release from: Halo Monitoring

/ PR Agency: 919 Marketing
Huntsville, AL-October 11, 2010 – Chris Otto, the CEO of Halo Monitoring, will explain to healthcare policy makers, industry leaders and public/private funders how innovative wireless technologies such as the myHalo fall detection system, are transforming the nation’s healthcare system by savings lives, dollars, and bringing peace of mind to seniors and their families.

Otto will demonstrate the life-saving myHalo medical alarm, which summons help automatically if a senior falls without the need to push a button, during Health Care Innovation Day in Washington. The wireless health technology showcase is organized by the West Wireless Health Institute, a non-profit research organization promoting the use of wireless health solutions aimed at lowering health care costs.

“myHalo allows seniors to preserve their independence and live at home where it’s comfortable and familiar because help will be called automatically if they fall, there’s no need to push a button,” says Otto. “In addition, myHalo provides significant cost savings for seniors because they can live at home rather than in a senior care facility.”

Falls are the leading cause of fatal and non-fatal injuries for seniors. Through the use of a small, comfortable, wearable, wireless device, the advanced myHalo system sends an automatic alert in the event of a fall. myHalo is also the first system of its kind that monitors heart rate and temperature allowing family members or designated caregivers, using a secure website, the ability to check on an elderly loved ones’ situation without invading a senior’s privacy.
Halo Monitoring is one of 300 companies providing wireless health solutions taking part in the Health Care Innovation Day. The event is set for Tuesday, October 12 in the Ronald Reagan Building.
