Work that Makes a Difference: Creating a Meaningful Career in Service of a Better World

SAN FRANCISCO—Two Bay Area coaches will lead a workshop for those seeking sustainable and meaningful careers , Work that Makes a Difference, on Sunday, October 24th at The California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS).

In developing Google’s School for Personal Growth, career coach Monika Broecker learned that employees long to create meaning with their work and achieve a more sustainable work and lifestyle. "At Google, I had a dream job. I built and led the School of Personal Growth within Google University, it's mission, strategy, curricula and programs. This was very inspiring. I now want to bring this mission to the whole world, individuals and companies."

After an innovative career at Google, Broecker launched her own Center for Personal Growth, which is dedicated to facilitating lasting individual, social and global transformation. Additionally, the Center for Personal Growth offers learning programs to organizations to help employees create a more sustainable work and lifestyle.

Tarra Christoff, a career and leadership coach specializes in helping women make their contribution in the world. She is passionate about helping people to find their right livelihood. She also specializes in working globally with women through teleclasses. “My clients feel a calling to be of service in the world and make a difference, not just a living. Through creating meaningful, sustainable careers they are living their purpose and finding deep fulfillment.”

Broecker and Christoff who bring transformative learning programs into organizations draw extensively from their backgrounds, which include transformative learning and leadership development, depth psychology, somatic psychology and therapy, spirituality and creative expression. The experiential workshop at CIIS integrates holistic practices such as creative expression, somatic techniques such as journaling, grounding, guided imagery, meditation and movement. Participants will engage in passionate inquiry around purpose, goals and strengths and leave with an inspired action plan and practical tools to create work that transforms.

Tarra Christoff, MA helps individuals, groups and organizations realize their vision for catalyzing change in the world from a place of heart, soul and inspiration. Monika Broecker, MS is the founder of the Center of Personal Growth. Her distinguished career in leadership development and coaching includes building and leading the School of Personal Growth at Google. Monika has spoken across the world at large-scale conferences and has won many awards for her groundbreaking work. She has extensively trained in systemic and somatic psychotherapy and currently works as a Somatic Psychotherapist (MFT Trainee) at the Center for Somatic Psychotherapy in San Francisco. She has published several articles and books, including the most extensive biography of cybernetics pioneer Heinz von Foerster.
