SGS Consumer Testing Services Turkey has opened its new food laboratory in June 2010 in Istanbul. The new lab can perform microbiological, physical and chemical analysis according to ISO 17025 standards.

The testing procedures at the new lab use national and international standard (http://www.sgs.com/food_certification?catId=5777&lobId=5554&type=service) methods like ISO, AOAC, FDA, HPA, NMKL and TSE. The lab is able to perform microbiological analysis on all types of food products.

Physical analysis can be conducted on various groups of food products, including animal and vegetable fats and oils, coffee, maize, olive, brine, meat and meat products, fruit and vegetable products, cereals and cereal products etc.

The new lab can also perform chemical analysis on the following types of food products: animal and vegetable fats and oils, coffee, maize, olive, brine, meat and meat products, fruit and vegetable products, dairy products, cereals and cereal products etc.

The new lab is a further indication of SGS’s commitment to become a strong partner with the Turkish Authorized Bodies, importers and exporters in local and global markets.
